Dell Technologies and DTUC: 2024 Milestones and Achievements

January 29, 2025

The start of 2025 is the perfect opportunity to reflect on 2024's technological achievements which took center stage in Dell Technologies World (DTW) 2024, a tech conference in Las Vegas that was held from May 20 to 23, 2024.

Attended by approximately 10,000 clients and partners, the conference focused on the hottest topic in tech: artificial intelligence (AI). Other topics included edge, the modern workplace and data center, and multi-cloud. Key speakers included CEO Michael Dell, Dell Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke, Samsung SDS CEO and President Dr. Sungwoo Hwang, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Here are the highlights of Dell Tech World 2024 and what we can expect from both Dell Technologies and Dell Technologies User Community (DTUC) in the year ahead.

Product and Technology Highlights

During DTW 2024, CEO Michael Dell announced new products and technological advancements for many current products. These included the following:

  • Dell's AI Factory is a solution that uses AI to help companies train, tune, and run AI models. It encompasses high-performance architecture (HPA) accelerators, storage and networking, MLOps platforms, and integrations with powerful software suites like OpenShift AI and NVIDIA AI Enterprise (NVAIE).
  • Dell XE9680L is a server that supports 8 x Blackwell GPUs and features direct liquid cooling capabilities. It is a crucial part of the AI Factory rack-scale architecture. It is the liquid-cooled successor to the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 and is designed to reduce deployment headaches and accelerate AI workloads.
  • Turnkey rack solutions are available in three configuration sizes: a 70KW air-cooled solution, a 100KW liquid-cooled solution with 72 Blackwell GPUs, and a 130KW liquid-cooled solution centered on the NVIDIA BH200.
  • Dell Storage solutions include PowerScale F910, which completes 2024's update to the PowerScale all-NVMe lineup. There have been notable improvements in performance due to code and hardware updates.

Technological Advancements

At Dell Technologies Forum 2024, thought leaders touched on several technological innovations.

First, they remarked that AI is projected to evolve into a trillion-dollar industry. Dell plans to keep its products and services on top of these developments by addressing AI's unique computing architectural demands.

They also highlighted a surge in AI-optimized servers throughout 2024, with orders increasing nearly 40% sequentially and a backlog reaching $2.9 billion.

Finally, keynote speakers noted that 2024 saw the rapid expansion of AI tokens cryptocurrencies that support AI-based applications, projects, and services.

Dell Community Engagements

As in previous years, DTUC established a range of events for Dell users to network, share, and collaborate with experts and peers. These included local meetups where members could hear from experts, network, and see exhibits, such as the Dell Mobile Tech Rally a traveling exhibit showcasing Dell's latest products and technologies.

DTUC also ran online webinars, such as the "Dell Technologies and DTUC: 2024 Year in Review," which covered key updates and innovations introduced throughout the year.

These events attracted Dell users of all stripes, including IT professionals, technical experts, and end-users, and invited them to discover the latest updates from Dell, explore technical best practices, and give feedback directly to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Looking Ahead

Building on the highlights of Dell Technologies World 2024, Dell Technologies aims to expand its AI-driven solutions across edge, multi-cloud environments, and the modern workplace. We can also expect Dell to respond to various AI trends in 2025, including experimenting with AI agents software systems that can make and plan decisions and take actions to meet pre-set goals.

As an extension of Dell's customer-centric vision, the DTUC will continue to build its global network of tech professionals and experts, offering training, resources, and networking opportunities.

Ultimately, Dell Technologies and DTUC are united in their efforts to bring about a future where AI usage is as seamless as it is efficient.
